  1. the trick is they’re calling it a “super league,” so they trick you into thinking times in your life that were super or maybe you were called super. But thats no guarantee that we will have super feelings when this league gets started.

  2. These two guys represent perfectly what I think, but in my case, from Spain. As Athletic Bilbao fan, I’m very jealous of english football and its values. Keep like that and hopefully the rest can follow PL teams in this fight. Very much respect from Bilbao.

  3. “At a football club, there’s a holy trinity – the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don’t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.” – Bill Shankly.

  4. I think the closest thing to this is what has happened in the rugby world. The top sides from Ireland, Scotland and Wales left their respective leagues for greater competition, money and prestige in the Top14. It is a smaller sport in terms of money and fans. The effect it had was that sides like Neath who remained in the Welsh League probably lost profile (they were a top team that didn’t leave). Also smaller teams such as Merthyr have become much more successful than before, now 3 time champions of that Welsh league. One way around these issues in this split was that certain teams become provincial with many players dual-registered. It would mean the Premier League would lack status. I understand what the thinking is and I think it’s fair.
